Ken Agyapong Sets Up Anti-Rigging Taskforce to Safeguard NPP Race

The initiative follows rising concerns among his supporters about potential electoral malpractice during the contest.

Recent opinion polls have consistently ranked Mr. Agyapong as the frontrunner, intensifying anticipation as the primaries approach. The creation of the squad is therefore seen as a safeguard to protect the integrity of the process and ensure that delegates’ choices are respected.

In recent weeks, several prophets and religious leaders have predicted a decisive victory for Mr. Agyapong, provided the elections are conducted fairly. Others, however, have warned of possible attempts to manipulate the outcome—concerns that have fueled the formation of the special response team.

Confirming the development in a video shared on social media, Joojo Rocky Obeng, Director of Elections for Team Ken, said the squad will monitor the process closely and act swiftly against any irregularities.

“We are fully prepared to prevent any attempt at rigging these elections,” Mr. Obeng stated, stressing that the task force would operate strictly within the law.

The decision has sparked widespread debate within party circles, with many describing it as a proactive move to safeguard transparency in what is expected to be a highly competitive primary.

Mr. Agyapong’s team insists the squad is not intended to intimidate but rather to ensure a free and fair process, thereby upholding the credibility of the primaries and strengthening the democratic culture within the NPP.
